ซาอุฯ จับยาเสพติด “แคปตากอน” – บีบีซี รายงานวันที่ 1 ก.ย. ว่า สำนักงานปราบปรามยาเสพติดของซาอุดีอาระเบีย (จีดีเอ็นซี) แถลงความคืบหน้าปฏิบัติการบุกค้นโกดังสินค้าที่ท่าเรือบกริยาด ในกรุงริยาด เมืองหลวงของประเทศ ว่า
เจ้าหน้าที่สามารถจับกุมผู้ต้องสงสัยเป็นสมาชิกแก๊งค้ายาเสพติด 8 คน เป็นชาวซีเรีย 6 คน ปากีสถาน 2 คน และยึดของกลางเป็นยาเม็ดแคปตากอนจำนวน 46,916,480 เม็ดซุกซ่อนในผลิตภัณฑ์แป้งสำหรับประกอบอาหาร ถือเป็นการจับกุมยาเสพติดชนิดนี้ในปริมาณมากที่สุดเป็นประวัติการณ์ของประเทศ
ทั้งนี้ ยาเม็ดแคปตากอนประกอบด้วยสารเสพติดหลักคือ แอมเฟตามีน (ยาบ้า) ผสมกับคาเฟอีน และสารอื่นๆ มีมูลค่าการซื้อขายทั่วโลกเมื่อปี 2564 ราว 5,700 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือกว่า 209,000 ล้านบาท
